Using the State Capitol to Teach, Arkansas History Workshop

The Secretary of State is pleased to continue offering an ADE approved teacher workshop that provides an overview of the FREE and NEW educational materials and resources available from the Secretary of State's office.  The workshop includes voter education resources and programs for K- 12 grades, Arkansas Frameworks specific civics curriculum for K - 8, programs and presentations for all grade levels, and a teacher information CD with downloadable PDF files of Secretary of State education publications.

This workshop meets the two hour Arkansas History credit requirement.

Topic:  Using the State Capitol to Teach

Learn about the Arkansas State Capitol and the FREE and NEW resources available to you from the Secretary of State's office. Agenda includes information about field trips to the Capitol and on-site activities; an overview of the FREE presentations that our speakers will bring to your classroom; and a look at FREE on-line resources for Arkansas History, Civics and Government.
New Materials include: a State Symbols Poster Set and a new K-2 activity book about state symbols with a 3-5 grade activity book to follow.

Materials will be distributed from the Secretary of State's office.
Workshop is FREE to all teachers/administrators.
